On Tuesday 22nd July, we are performing our show-stopping performance of the Wizard of Oz. Nearer the time, tickets will be available to collect from the office: a maximum of two tickets are available per family and you can decide to get either one ticket for each of the two shows or two tickets for just one of the shows.

Afternoon showing: arrive from 1.30pm for a 1.45pm start

Evening showing: the children should arrive at 5.30pm and parents should arrive for a 6pm start.

On Thursday 24th July, each of the year 6 classes will have their assembly where they will share their memories and enjoy some refreshments with you.

Mrs Cannon’s class: 9.30am

Miss Radcliffe’s class: 11.15am

Miss White’s class: 2pm

The ball, which is taking place on Thursday 24th July, is a night where the children will be able to celebrate being together as a year group for one last time. Children should arrive in party wear with their dancing feet at the ready! Doors will open at 5.30pm – please come in through the gate on the playground where the children usually arrive in the morning.

Further information regarding the ‘South Area Hub’, which is now based here at Broomwood Primary. We want to provide more opportunities for the families on Broomwood, but we ask that you spread the word about what is on offer.

Toddler Forest Provision has already started but it is not too late to sign up. Please call the office and let them know you want to come. This is every Wednesday from 9.15 – 10.00 am and for children aged 18 months years to 3 years old

Broomwood Baby Sensory group has also started but again it is not too late to get a place. This is also on a Wednesday from 10.00 – 11.15am for 0-18 months. A family navigator attends this session who can provide further support to your family if needed.

Dad’s forest school- Our consultation highlighted that more needs to be in place for dads. We will be aiming to do several sessions across the year. The first one will be tonight from 4.15-5.15 and the next one is the 14th of July from 4.15-5.15. Again, a family navigator from Trafford will attend to provide any additional support that families may need.

Stay and Play sessions at the Broomwood centre- These sessions will start on Monday 30th June from 1.00-2.30. They are for children 0-5 and they are free of charge. Please just turn up on the day.

Every Thursday

We are aiming for our ‘hub’ to be used by different services that families can access on Broomwood’s site. The following services have been confirmed. These sessions will be a drop in from 1.30- 3.30 and whilst you don’t need to book, feel free to call the office to say that you will be coming along. You would need to sign in at the main school entrance when attending one of the sessions.

Thursday 19th June– Trafford’s family navigator will be available. Tracy Poole, the family navigator is able to signpost and support with lots of family needs, whether it is linked to housing, children’s behaviour at home or anything that you are finding difficult. She is going to be a great resource for Broomwood so please make sure you access her.

Thursday 26th June- The DWP will be available. If you want to check that you are getting what you are entitled to with benefits or if you require support in accessing some, this drop-in session will support you with that.

Thursday 3rd July- A parent Co-ordinator will be available. I will provide further information at a later date

Thursday 24th July- The DWP will be available.

I will provide you with more key dates for the Thursday sessions when I get them and will continue to update you when other key sessions are starting.

Many thanks

Dr. Louise Owen
