Form from: Broomwood Primary School |
This form has expired
We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 and 6 children who represented Broomwood Primary in a hockey tournament at Timperley Hockey Club. They played three exciting matches, winning one, drawing one, and narrowly losing one against top of the league Stamford Park Primary.
Throughout the tournament, our team demonstrated fantastic teamwork, resilience, and skill. Most importantly, they displayed Broomwood Primary’s core values of togetherness and commitment, supporting each other and giving their best effort in every game. Broomwood finished a brilliant joint second in their league – well done!

Friday 14th March - Key Stage 2
World Book Day, where your child can dress up as their favourite character, will be on Thursday 6th March.
Chocolate Tub Recycling:
Tub2Pub is back for 2025!
Make sure your tubs don’t go to waste! Take your clean, empty plastic confectionery and cracker tubs to any Greene King pub between 1st January and 16th February 2025 to be recycled. All proceeds from the recycled plastic tubs will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Over the past five years, Tub2Pub has collected 26,253 kg of plastic—that’s around 230,000 tubs—raising £23,908 for their charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Or bring them into school before 16th February and we will recycle them for you.
Thank you
Altrincham Football club will be running a J. Davidson Multi Sport Holiday Club this half term for children eligible for Free School Meals.
The holiday club is free for the children to attend and includes 4 hours of fun multi sports activities and a nutritious lunch.
This is all possible due to the amazing support from J. Davidson Scrap Metal Processors who funded the programme fully.
Y5/6 Trip to Stockport air raid shelters
As our fantastic finish, towards the end of the topic, we are planning a trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelters.
Due to its focus on what life was like during the war, the trip has proven to be very popular!
The trip will involve a day in role during 1941. We’ll meet characters from World War 2 as we step back in time to wartime Britain. Wartime characters will be expecting evacuees from the Channel Islands and will help our classes find out how to be good evacuees. There will be hands on activities and songs to keep up their spirits. It will be exciting for the children to learn what life would have really been like during those difficult times.
Dates for your Diary
Monday 10th March: Mix of year 5 and 6 classes
Monday 17thMarch: Mix of year 5 and 6 classes
Details of which children/classes are attending each day, as well as any further information about the day, will be sent out before half term.
The cost of the trip will be £15. Please make payment/consent via parent pay.
Swimming Lessons Year 4
We have arranged for Year 4 to have weekly lessons at Sale Leisure centre on a Wednesday
Starting Wednesday February 5th
The children will be leaving school by coach, arriving at Sale Leisure centre ready to start their lessons. The lessons will be an hour long. The lessons will be taught by highly experienced swimming instructors, who will group the children according to their swimming ability.
What your child will need
The children are expected to dress in an appropriate manner.
Girls should wear a one piece costume. All colours are acceptable. Long hair should be tied back in a bun or plait to make putting the swimming hats on a lot easier.
Boys should wear swimming trunks. Again, all colours are acceptable. Baggy, knee length swimming trunks are not acceptable.
Please ensure all earrings are removed on a swimming day.
Each child MUST also have a swimming hat.
All children must remember to bring a towel and a swimming bag with them.
Goggles can also be used during the swimming lessons but are not compulsory.
Children should not bring in any shampoo or conditioner for showering.
If your child suffers from any medical difficulties, takes medications or has any physical/language difficulties, this data must be made known to the class teacher, so that they can inform the instructors prior to the lesson.
If they do not have their medication with them on a swimming day, they will not be able to go swimming and will have to stay in school.
If you have any other queries that have not been answered, please do not hesitate to contact myself before the first swimming lesson.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Payne
Swimming Coordinator
